Apologetics

"We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,(2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV). Satan's lies and false logic hinder clear thinking, but recognising and overcoming his tricks is crucial for individuals to accept God’s love and his gift for them. (Go to this page for an explanation of what makes up a strong argument.)

This introduction to informal apologetic logic fallacies explains some common flaws in discussions. Broadly they included people:

It introduces logic fallacies like "red herrings", "circular reasoning", and "attacking the messenger, not the message".  This is not an exhaustive list of examples, but it will expand over time.

Please help by adding other common examples of people’s flawed objections to the good news of Jesus Christ so that we can post them too.

A simple, but powerful primer on the subject of logic fallacies is a book called “The Fallacy Detective” by Nathaniel Bluedorn and Hans Bluedorn.  It is a children’s workshop book that I enjoyed as an adult as well.
